Carbon Footprint Calculator Is Popping Out Into the Market
2008-12-01
Superfos, the Danish plastic and cardboard packaging firm, has come up with a carbon footprint calculator which can evaluate the amount of carbon dioxide released by raw materials, production process, disposal and transport of the product.
The calculator could analyze design proposals and investigate the impact of various raw materials and processes.
In resonance with the green ideas, the company claimed that the alternation of containers shape from round to square will save 8 grams of carbon dioxide due to pallet optimization, fewer truck loads and fewer raw materials.
According to Torben Boer, product design manager, the calculator meets the need of carbon footprint strategy and responses to live up to customer demand that market standards should be concerned about.
The gadget facilitates consumers to distinguish the waste projects, energy systems from recovery systems in the market, the recycling system is also part of the assignment of the device.
Superfos has its headquarters in Runcorn and has the branches in Spain, Poland, France, Belgium, Finland and the US.
